British modern heritage brand, Belstaff, has opened its first stand-alone boutique in Canada within the newly renovated Yorkville Village shopping centre. The boutique is operated in partnership with the Zappacosta family, known for their upscale multi-brand retail stores philip and Nanni.
A private event was held last night to welcome Toronto influencers, VIPs and media to the newly opened location. The boutique holds a complete offering of menswear and accessories from the brand in Canada.
Belstaff continues to expand globally with out first store in Toronto. The first retail launch in Canada, a country renowned for great outerwear, shows our dedication to this market. The opening represents the further strengthening of the roll out of our strategy and we are pleased to be working with a great partner, philip, in order to do this.” – Gavin Haig, Belstaff CEO
To mark the opening, Belstaff has brought selection of its Archive exhibition, ‘Hollywood Legends’ to Yorkville Village. This is a celebration of Belstaff’s iconic design which influenced many Hollywood films, including: The Iron Man jacket, 2008, inspired by the action film staring Robert Downey Jr; The Hero jacket, 2005, designed exclusively for the dystopian sci-fi film ‘War of the Worlds’; The Knight Blouson, 2008, as worn by Christian Bale in the Batman movie, ‘The Dark Knight’; and The Trialmaster jacket, 2007, an updated version of the original as worn by Will Smith in the post- apocalyptic film ‘I am Legend.’
